Last week I spoke to agents, brokers, and lenders at three different events across California - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Then on Thursday I broadcasted our monthly webcast to thousands of Members across North America. I don't write this looking for sympathy for a big workload! I share it with you because throughout the week I was reminded of what these different groups have in common; they all live in the land of opportunity. We all live in the land of opportunity! But it can be hard to remember that sometimes.

Yes, times have been tough - there's no doubt we've been through what can only be described as a perfect storm - but let me tell you that in countless conversations with people last week, I heard time and time again about low inventory, multiple offers, and a rash of first-time buyers eager to get onboard the dream of home ownership.

I'm backstage at our MasterMind Summit in San Diego. It's a hot day out there but in here a few thousand of the best are learning how to unleash their talents. I'll keep it short - time for me to be back onstage here in a few but just wanted to say a quick hello to those who are here and those who couldn't be with us. 

OBTW, did you enjoy the talent show? Thanks to all the fantastic performers. And those judges - they were so wise, intelligent, insightful ;)

Hard to believe it's been a year but we are deep in last minute preparations for this year's MasterMind Summit - and kick off is next Sunday night.

As you can imagine, there are thosands of last minute details to be worked on, refined, figured out and decided on. We're getting close...and I'm very excited for what's in store this year.

You've heard me say it before but I don't mind repeating myself! Don't miss it! It's going to knock your socks off and I'm really looking forward to the journey we'll be on together for a few day. I'll see you in a few short days.

An ongoing balancing act we all face is how to stay informed on current matters without getting down, discouraged or negative from all the news out there. We are exposed to a constant barrage of information, news and advertisements that can leave little mindshare for the most important things in our day.

The key is to filter.

Know what you're looking for and stay focused on that. Most of today's media outlets work hard to keep your attention; you just have to be smarter than that and keep your eye on the relevant; not the most pressing/interesting/sensational. I know I'm preaching to the choir with this stuff and most of you guys are already on the program - but sometimes it's good to just get a little reminder.

Well here we are...it's official. Buffini & Company has a brand new home. And we love it!

The team involved in the design, building and outfitting of this new facility have a lot to be proud of. They've worked tirelessly and ahead of schedule so we could be in our new home on time and in ship shape. And our staff have a lot to be thankful for. Myself included. From the moment you walk through the doors you get the sense that this place is something special. There's a renewed buzz around the building and our staff are excited to be in their new headquarters.

If you're ever in San Diego or if you live close by, Pop-By for a visit of the new pad - it still has that 'new car' smell!

This week marks a significant one for Buffini & Company...Friday will be the last day in our current location and Monday our first in the new. The building is almost complete and we're very excited about our new home.

When you move an entire company like this there are many moving parts and it's something that we most definitely had to outsource. So for weeks now a company that specializes in these things has been assessing both buildings and the contents ahead of the move. They'll then come here on our last day to begin packing up the thousands of yellow bins that our staff have filled and load them up for transport to the new facility.

We're all a little nervous as well as excited but that's to be expected. Ultimately we're headed to a custom designed space where we will have even more interaction than we've had, where community will be even stronger and where our company's foundations can be even more solid. I'll let you know how the move goes

This August in San Diego, Alison Levine, Eric Thomas, Joe Niego and myself will take the stage at MasterMind to delve into how you can uncover, cultivate and then unleash your talents. We’re very excited about content that I believe will have a radical impact on both your business and your life. And that’s the goal with MasterMind – to move us out of our comfort zones and create a paradigm shift in our thinking.

So many times throughout the year people tell me they regretted not attending the event. And there’ll be more of those conversations in the coming year. But I hope fewer and fewer. MasterMind is such a great shot of energy – you’re surrounded by a fired up bunch of people and immersed in content designed to bring out the best in you – that it’s a shame to miss it. I hope you’re not one of the few with regrets.

I'm out here in New York for our Turning Point - having a great time with old faces and new. Walking the hallways, I noticed someone scouring a social networking site - with a scowl. Their workbook was by their side with some note cards sliding out. It made me think to pose this question: what are you doing instead of writing notes to clients? Are you tweeting, surfing or posting a picture that will be long forgotten?

A couple of years ago during the height of the real estate boom, many began to look at the industry as a career option. Often when I talked to people they’d say, “Oh, I can do that,” or “I’m a people person – this would be perfect for me!

Whatever reasons led them to real estate, the reality of what it entails would soon be clear. Thing is, you don’t ‘try’ this business out; it tries you out! If you’re in business today, you’re a winner because you’ve come through the tough times and been tried out by the business. And you’re part of a group moving toward the industry forward in a professional manner every day.

It’s truly a good life!
