Knowing your "why"

At events over the years I've often talked about knowing your "why" - that force, reason, motivation or drive that fuels you through the easy times as well as the tough. Having a why is ultimately what gets you through any "how". Whether it’s the well-being and happiness of your family, your personal health or career, a personal mission statement or a clearly written goal, it's something we all need to devote time to figuring out.

Life gets busy and a timeout rarely presents itself unless we are deliberate in taking time to figuring out just why it is that we do what we do. Do you think you deserve that time?

No matter what stage you are at in your life you can always benefit from reassessing your why, refocusing your efforts and building yourself a plan that is aligned with what you truly love to do.

It’s a good life!

The importance of movement

Last week I presented to brokers and agents in South Africa. We had a great time together and I enjoyed every minute in that incredible country. While I don't like to be away from my family for extended periods of time, this visit was very special and served as a great reminder of something I often think about; how much travel opens your eyes.

There's nothing quite like it for giving you an appreciation for cultures beyond your own, while also gaining perspective on your own life and environment. Landing yesterday in San Diego with fresh eyes I was reminded of all the great things this country has to offer. But I was also reminded of those things we could stand to learn from other places. And that's the key to life - maintaining a balance. We can get swept up in the politics, media or issues of the day but in reality, this too shall pass. There's always another crisis coming, or fire to put out. Question is, are we learning, growing and asking questions still? Are we open to new information? Can we learn from others? I've learned some new things and absorbed lots of information from my recent travels. It's opened my eyes a little and given me a fresh perspective. Sometimes just a little movement leads to a lot of growth.

Be a professional professional

In real estate we are paid to be a professional our clients can rely on. A simple message today but it's something to remember every day as we serve them.

A salute to our Veterans

Last night the Buffini clan went to dinner after a long walk together on the beach. It was one of those perfect fall evenings in San Diego - sunny but with a chill in the air. I love the cooler evenings as they remind me of my youth growing up in Dublin. I'm so proud of the country of my birth and will always be an Irishman at heart, but I'm also so thankful for my home here in America.

This country has been very good to me and to countless immigrants like me, and on Veteran's Day, I'd like to thank all of you veterans and active duty military alike for your service. If service to your country is an indicator of patriotism, then you are surely the standard we should all strive to attain.

Chicago weather, Dallas bound

Somewhere around 9am, Joe Niego and I rode bicycles to his office on a brisk Chicago day. It was a great set up for a very productive day working on content together.

I love this weather - it reminds me of growing up in Ireland. It's really the perfect season for doing Pop-Bys to your best clients...just like Joe and I will be doing this week in Dallas when we bring the Turning Point to town and then follow it up with a big old tailgate party at SMU the next day. Don't forget to tune into the Members-only webcast next Tuesday morning when I'll be talking about how you can leverage the holiday season in your business.

It's a good life!

Buffco News

Things move quickly here at Buffini & Company. We recently moved into our new facility in Carlsbad, California. It's a state of the art building that we took time to shape to the team's needs, but now we are settled into our new home as if we were here all along. 2012 has been a great year for Buffini & Company. Our brand new training program, Peak Producers, is something the whole team is very proud of. More than 9000 agents across North America have averaged 12 transactions during the 12 weeks of the program. Our new CRM, ReferralMaker, has just launched and is being used in record numbers. Events like MasterMind and the Peak Experience are sold out with people on waiting lists for both these events and for our One2One Coaching program.

Why do I tell you all this? Because we are walking the walk.

All those things our Business Coaches hold you accountable to in your business are the very things we do here at Buffini & Company. We build relationships, provide value, exceed expectations and ask for referrals. I try my best to be a good example... if Buffini & Company can demonstrate profitability in tougher times then that hopefully shines a light for you in your business too.

We're all in it to win so let's keep up the momentum many of you are beginning to enjoy in your business.

It's a good life!

The thrill of real estate

Last week I spoke to agents, brokers, and lenders at three different events across California - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Then on Thursday I broadcasted our monthly webcast to thousands of Members across North America. I don't write this looking for sympathy for a big workload! I share it with you because throughout the week I was reminded of what these different groups have in common; they all live in the land of opportunity. We all live in the land of opportunity! But it can be hard to remember that sometimes.

Yes, times have been tough - there's no doubt we've been through what can only be described as a perfect storm - but let me tell you that in countless conversations with people last week, I heard time and time again about low inventory, multiple offers, and a rash of first-time buyers eager to get onboard the dream of home ownership.

They're ready...are you?

A month of mentors

For the past month on my facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/brianbuffini, I've shared a quote or video clip from Lou Tice, Og Mandino, Stephen Covey, Jim Rohn and Neil Armstrong - all mentors of mine who have sadly passed on. What an incredible group of minds to have been exposed to and how lucky we all are to benefit from their work. It's so important to surround yourself with positive people, experiences and content.

Election season

Are you decided about which candidate you want to see lead the country? Do you know who you're going to vote for? If so, then why don't you turn off the TV, pick up a stack of personal notes, and write to some of your favorite people?

You already know who you want to win so don't give another minute to the commentary. You've got plenty to do for your family, your business, your life. Let's get back to work!

It's a good life!

Quotes from my friend Jim

As I mentioned before, I am dedicating the month of September to sharing quotes from mentors of mine who are no longer with us. Here's one from the always inspiring Jim Rohn:

"We can have more than we've got because we can become more than we are."

It's a good life!
