The best thing since peanut butter?

Are you Blitzing today? We’re headed toward the midpoint and it might feel like you can coast a little but don’t give in to the temptation. Keep up the intensity – there are just a few weeks of Blitzing to go.

I like to share some of the stories we hear from you so here’s a great one from Guy Pfister in Arizona. He reckons The Blitz could give PB a run for its money:

“Congrats to Buffini & Company for coming up with the best new thing since peanut butter! This works on so many levels. The road map is fantastic, easy to follow, and enthusiastic! The support is unbelievable...In any event, 10 referrals in the first two weeks….”

Or how about this from Louise Ducharme in Maine:

“…It is Valentine’s Day and I am absolutely fired up! …Just this week, I gave three referrals, received four, one of which already turned into a new listing and one new buyer - I have a pending sale since yesterday that will bring me three transactions.  C’est vraiment la belle vie!! It is the good life! Happy Valentines Day, A bientot!”

Just five weeks into The Blitz and you guys have made 556,419 phone calls! Not only that you did 261,428 Pop-Bys, wrote 500K+ notes and generated…39,875 referrals! I think it’s time to take a second to celebrate. Is this the kind of stuff you read about in the newspaper? Unfortunately I don’t think it is. Keep going – you are impacting your local economy and are standard bearers for what it means to be an entrepreneur.

It’s a good life!

There’s nothing like a good belly laugh!

On my travels this year, I’ve noticed a lot of people working harder than ever to make the same or even less money. And myself and the staff at Buffini & Company have been doing everything we can to try to encourage, motivate, challenge and train all of our great Members. However there’s one element that you must introduce regularly to your mental diet and that’s a good belly laugh.

Studies have shown its physiological healing qualities, researchers have analyzed its psychological benefits, however it just seems to me that at times like this there’s nothing like putting your head back and allowing yourself to have a good laugh. This was part of the thinking that went into the "Referral Brothers" skit Joe Niego and I did this year at this year's MasterMind. We had just received the first copies of our new book, Work by Referral. Live the Good Life! and we wanted to come up with a creative way not only to gift our audience with the first edition, but also provide some comic relief and allow people to throw their heads back and just enjoy.

So make sure you put yourself in an environment or spend time with someone you know will provide a good laugh. And if you don’t have anything planned for today, check this YouTube clip out and maybe it’ll do the trick.

Keep working, keep trying, and keep laughing.

It’s a good life!

Go Saux!

Last night after the Boston Turning Point, I attended my first Red Sox game at Fenway Park. What an experience! Over the course of the game, I became caught up in the passion of those around me for their beloved team. Excitement, great humor and incredible passion enveloped the whole ballpark.

Suddenly it dawned on me; I wonder if these people are this passionate about their own lives and careers. I wonder if these people approach their goals with the same zest as they do cheering on their team to win a championship. What if this passion and energy was applied to overcoming the obstacles or challenges they face? It would seem that they, too, would be unstoppable.

What happened for me tonight was that I had a great time enjoying all the pageantry, community, and energy of a great sporting event, but left the game resolved in my mind to not live vicariously through others, but to cheer on my family, loved ones and myself to become all that we are capable of being and living the good life.

And that’s my wish for you too.

It’s a good life!

Happy St. Paddy’s Day!

I think it was Mark Twain who said, “On St. Patrick’s day there are only two types of people in the world; those who are Irish and those who want to be.” I always liked that guy!

One of the things St. Patrick is known for is driving the snakes out of Ireland. If St. Pat were alive today, however, he would say that this market adjustment has driven the snakes out of the real estate market. There were a small number of sub-prime lenders who made promises to their clients that couldn’t be kept and speculators who wanted to buy and flip real estate to double their money overnight.

Real estate is the single greatest investment in history. It meets financial and investment needs while providing emotional comfort and physical security. For those of us who love this business, believe in the value of real estate and get a thrill from helping someone who never thought they could afford to buy a home, this market is like St. Patrick’s Day every day.

Dia dhuit agus choladh saibh! (God be with you and sleep well!)
